EUAs have retraced from the highs, but have done so in a relatively controlled drop. The strong January’s rally was in need of a correction and now that we have one, the question is how far down it can continue. The profitability of coal power plants is still negative and shows no signs of improving as power prices keep sliding lower, so fundamentally EUA prices could dip even further.
