Carbon prices have remained resilient heading into the end of September, with late compliance buyers continuing to underpin bullish momentum. Despite mixed signals, the market has so far resisted breaking convincingly below the 76 EUR level. Every dip continues to find eager buyers, highlighting the persistent strength of demand. Today\u2019s option expiry passed without surprises, reinforcing the market\u2019s recent pattern of subdued behaviour. This calmness is consistent with the historically low levels of implied volatility observed over the past months, suggesting traders are neither anticipating nor pricing in sharp moves in the immediate term. Once again, the spotlight of the week falls on the CoT report. The narrative among investment funds remains largely unchanged, as speculative participants extended their net length positions. According to the latest data, investors now hold net long exposure of over 78 million tonnes \u2014 a significant build-up just ahead of the compliance deadline. Interestingly, this accumulation has not triggered disorderly price action, which may indicate the presence of sufficient willing sellers to balance the demand. Auction results have also been in line with current market sentiment. Most auctions in the recent week cleared in line with prevailing spot prices, offering no major surprises. Cover ratios have been relatively weak, with bid-to-cover levels rarely exceeding 1.5 times in recent sessions. This hints at a somewhat cautious bidding appetite, even as prices remain supported in the secondary market.<\/p>\n
German power prices are down by 0.85 EUR since last week, with the front-year contract trading at 86.20 EUR\/MWh. API2 coal prices are up by 1.50 USD since last week, with the Cal-26 contract trading at 101.50 USD\/tonne. Front-year gas prices are down by 0.420 EUR since last week, with the TTF Cal-26 trading at 31.840 EUR\/MWh. EUR\/USD is down by 110 points since last week and is currently trading at 1.1740.<\/p>\n
