EUA prices are still trading very near the yearly high and every dip towards 7 EUR/unit is quickly bought back up. High power prices are outweighed by rising coal which is keeping generation margins for coal power plants fairly low. Despite the low margins, EUAs do not show any signs of weakness. Even EU ETS reform trilogue talks which ended without a final agreement, have only pushed prices down in the first minutes of Friday’s trading but they recovered very quickly.
